A pending decision is still a status worth communicating.
For each active submission, check whether the candidate knows the current status. Identify any feedback waiting on the client, who owns the next step, and when the next update should go out.
If there is no decision yet, say so. Give a date for the next update, not a promise of an offer. If that date changes, explain the change rather than letting the candidate chase it.
Leave a clear note after each update: the role, what is known, what remains open and the next action. That makes it easier for another team member to continue the conversation without repeating questions or making conflicting promises.
Clear communication does not guarantee a placement, but it helps candidates plan and keeps expectations honest.
